After conducting a national search, Better Health Partnership has named Rita Horwitz, RN, as its new President & CEO. She succeeds Randall Cebul, MD, who founded the organization 10 years ago and will serve as Chief Medical Officer. Horwitz joined Better Health Partnership in 2011 and most recently served as its Chief Operating Officer. "Rita brings a wealth of experience and an unmatched passion for our work that will help Better Health and our partners achieve even greater success in improving health care outcomes in our region," said Kevin S. Lauterjung, Chair of Better Health’s Board of Directors.

In her role at Better Health Partnership, Horwitz has worked with multiple stakeholder groups to advance value-based health care delivery and population health improvement. She oversees the organization’s programs, services and finances and has expanded strategic memberships and partnerships. She participates in the Cuyahoga County Board of Health’s Improvement Program (HIP-Cuyahoga) Steering Team; Ohio’s federally funded Comprehensive Primary Care Initiative; the Ohio Patient Centered Primary Care Collaborative Coordinating Council; and the American College of Healthcare Executives.

A graduate of Ohio State University and Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead Health Care Executive Management certification program, she has held executive leadership positions in health care, consulting and strategic human resources.
