“We Rise by Lifting Others” Event Spotlights Community Health Worker Day

In honor of Community Health Worker Day, Better Health Partnership, Cleveland State University (CSU) and Cuyahoga Community College hosted a celebratory event on Thursday, June 6 at CSU’s Student Center. More than 200 people attended this event to recognize and appreciate the valuable role CHWs perform, working one-on-one with people in underserved communities to navigate the healthcare system, social service sector and identify resources for their specific needs.

The event included several speakers representing Cuyahoga County’s Executive Office, University Hospitals, The Center for Community Solutions and the Carmella Rose Health Foundation. A vendor section with over 15 social service agencies and managed care plans also provided an opportunity for individuals to network and learn about the many services that support the work and professional development of CHWs.
