Faces of Better Health Partnership: Meet Aimee Budnik

To kick off our new “Faces of Better Health Partnership” series, we’re excited to introduce Aimee Budnik, PhD, RD/N, LD, who recently joined Better Health Partnership as our Chief Operating Officer. We asked Aimee five quick questions to help our partners and community get to know her.

What’s a guiding value or principle that shapes how you lead?

I lead with transparency and honesty, guided by a growth mindset and a strong commitment to the mission. I believe in co-design and distributing leadership, ensuring decisions are grounded in and shaped by the communities we serve.

Looking back on your career so far, what’s a moment you’re especially proud of?

Looking back on my career so far, two moments stand out as especially meaningful. Early on, working at the Food Bank for New York City in the aftermath of 9/11 was incredibly formative—it showed me the power of community response in times of crisis and deepened my commitment to addressing systemic needs with urgency and compassion. More recently, I’ve been proud of the opportunity to partner with community stakeholders to co-design the Pathways HUB in Summit County. That work reflects what I value most—bringing people together to create sustainable, community-driven solutions that improve health and well-being.

What’s something you’re excited to learn or explore in your new role?

I’m really looking forward to becoming more deeply connected and engaged in the work of BHP—learning about our partners, members, projects, and staff, and how everything fits together. I’m excited to build relationships, better understand our impact, and find ways to contribute meaningfully.

If you could trade roles with someone for a day, who would it be and why?

If I could trade roles for a day, I’d pick working in NASA’s Mission Control during a launch. i think it would be amazing to be immersed in space science for a day—surrounded by people who literally help us explore beyond our planet. There’s something both humbling and energizing about space—it reminds you how small we are, but also what’s possible when people come together to do something extraordinary.

What’s a small joy or ritual that helps you stay grounded outside of work?

I love to cook and create fun, new meals. It provides an opportunity to relax and be creative. I also try to spend time near water whenever I can—whether it’s the ocean, a lake, a river, or even a pool.

What’s your favorite pizza topping?

Meatball, of course and only on a NY pizza.

We’re grateful to have Aimee’s leadership as we continue strengthening systems of care across Northeast Ohio!
