Social Determinants of Health Factors that Impact the Workplace: Webinar Materials Available

Oswald Companies recently hosted a webinar that featured panelists including Better Health Partnership’s President and CEO, Rita Horwitz discussing how the social determinants of health (SDOH) directly and indirectly impact employers. SDOH such as socioeconomic status, access to health care and education impact the foundation of our community, and collective solutions are needed to address these issues. Employers play an important role in helping to address these SDOH factors that impact the workplace in the form of employee turnover, absenteeism, and utilization of high-cost healthcare services such as avoidable emergency room visits.

Other panel participants included:

  • Domonic Hopson, President & CEO, Neighborhood Family Practice
  • David Margolius, Health Commissioner, City of Cleveland
  • James Misak, Medical Director, Institute for H.O.P.E., MetroHealth

The session was moderated by Tom Sigman, Univation Labs Leader, Oswald Companies, and Tom Campanella, Healthcare Executive in Residence, Baldwin Wallace University.
