UnitedHealthcare Funding to Advance Children’s Health Improvement Work in the Region

Better Health Partnership is thrilled to announce a $100,000 investment from UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Ohio to financially support collaborative efforts focused on improving access and quality of care for children on Medicaid in Northeast Ohio.

“We are committed to increasing access to high-quality care and preventative services for our members and the communities we have the privilege to serve,” said Marianella Napolitano, Director, Population Health, UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Ohio. “By collaborating with Better Health Partnership, together, we have an opportunity to improve health outcomes in Northeast Ohio to build healthier communities.”

The investment – aimed at supporting the development of a Northeast Ohio quality improvement infrastructure to implement regional health improvement projects across health plans, health systems, community-based organizations, and local health departments – will expand Better Health’s ability to develop, manage, and evaluate multi-stakeholder collaboratives that address health equity. Better Health will provide coalition governance and project management to ensure alignment and foster a collaborative spirit where projects are co-designed to ensure mutual wins.

“Leveraging our EHR-collected health data to provide rapid-cycle QI processes, we will use a positive deviance approach, track small tests of change at a neighborhood level, and then scale across the region to reduce disparities in population groups. We are grateful for the support from UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Ohio to advance this work,” said Rita Horwitz, President and CEO, Better Health Partnership.
